Burton Pools & Spas began in April 1978, founded by brothers Dan and David Burton under the name Tallman Pools of Fort Smith. With a $7,000 loan, one pickup truck, and a garage as their first office, they were determined to bring high-quality pool construction to the region.
David handled sales, advertising, and business operations, while Dan focused on building top-quality vinyl liner pools. Their commitment to craftsmanship quickly earned a strong reputation, and by 1979, business volume had nearly tripled. In 1981, they expanded into a retail location, offering above-ground pools and hot tubs alongside their custom inground pool services. As demand grew, Burton Pools & Spas continued to expand. By 1993, the company had settled into two retail locations in Fort Smith and Springdale, where it continues to serve homeowners across the River Valley and Northwest Arkansas with superior pool and spa solutions, adding a third location in Greenland in 2024.
